American Bank is looking for a District Manager to provide leadership and support by guiding, coaching, and performing management duties related to branch operational activities and financial services; embracing accountability and ensuring adequate staffing levels to provide an excellent client experience. Create a cohesive team within the branches and across other Bank departments; assisting clients in their selection of various accounts and financial services; cross selling the Bank's products and services. The position of District Manager also requires full knowledge, skills, and the ability to function as a personal banker and teller as staffing needs require.
This position is also responsible for business development by making outside business development calls to sell and promote all commercial and retail products and services. The position requires travel to three branches in the Corpus Christi market as well as extended working hours as needed.

Must be able to travel to other branches and work outside of normal working hours as needed, including weekends on- call.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages and leads three branches: Shoreline Branch, Bay Branch, and Alameda Branch
- Acts as communication liaison between branches
- Assists branch staff and managers as needed
- Ensures branches have adequate staffing levels
- Assists with hiring process and ensures new employees are receiving on the job training and credentials as part of the new employee onboarding process
- Keeps Regional Manager updated on service levels, staffing, and operational issues
- Assists with employee coaching and development
- Assists in minimizing deposit account exceptions by monitoring daily reports
- Ensure audit requirements are met and in line for a level "1" audit rating
- Ensure and have knowledge of Regulatory Compliance
Operational Functions
- Utilizes CRM system
- Visits with referral sources regarding new business
- Maintains awareness of and involvement in community, civic and professional activities
- Determines financial needs of existing and prospective clients
- Takes a pro-active lead in cultivating and maintaining the front-line sales culture for the branch
- Lead front line sales initiatives including cross-selling Bank products and referring clients to other American Bank lines of business or sister companies
- Promote sales and service opportunities at all levels within the branch
- Ensures new client onboarding protocols are completed
- Accountable for all branch operations activities and ensures the quality and consistency of all work
- Inform Regional Manager of all operational activities and branch management issues including but not limited to staffing, facilities, personnel, and clients' transactions
- Know all functions within the branch and be able to perform duties as required including but not limited to all personal banker and teller duties
- Literate in PC hardware and various software applications including Microsoft Outlook
- Accountable for all functional activity including but not limited to teller outages, deposit account exceptions, facility and property upkeep, staff time sheets, safe deposit activity, ATM, vault duties and cash policy levels
- Adheres to procedures and controls that are consistent with Type 1 audit standards
- Responsible for authenticating the client's identity and their authorization to act on behalf of the account as stated in the account holder's signature contract prior to releasing, changing or altering any account information
Client Service
- Instills a high-value, distinctive and consistent client-interaction process in the regional branches. Supports the "Make It Happen" culture
- Take personal accountability for the client and maintain excellent client relations
- Communicates effectively with internal and external clients
Leadership Management
- Provides leadership and management of branch staff that exemplifies the Bank's values and ensures alignment with the Bank's strategic goals
- Responsible for completion of performance evaluations and goal setting
- Supervises, leads, and supports individual staff members and branch managers
- Inspires commitment from branch staff
- Develops a collaborative team environment within the branch and across the Bank
- Willingness to assist other branches when needs arise
- Seeks creative ways to solve issues and resolve conflicts
- Train and develop new team members including new employee onboarding process, observations, and feedback
- Evaluates, provides feed-back, coaches, and serves as a mentor to staff
- Resource for personal bankers and tellers including negotiable instrument law, account opening requirements, compliance with deposit account documentation and bank policy and procedures
- Conduct daily huddles
- Ensure quarterly audits are completed at all branches in the specified district
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned
Experience Required
- 5 Years retail banking experience
- 5 Years Branch Management experience in leading and coaching teams
- Above average performance review scores
- Has Audit I ratings
- Community involvement activities required
- Above average performance review scores
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with clients and personnel at all levels of the bank
- Supervisory and management skills
- Client service acumen
- Knowledge of consumer and business banking products and services
- Proven ability to lead a sales team to meet or exceed growth goals
- Knowledge of new accounts and teller operations
- Sales and referral skills
- Experience in deposit account documentation
- Experience in opening IRAs
- Consumer lending experience helpful, but not required
Education
