Title: Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting

First Look:

The Arena Group is looking for an experienced, dynamic, driven and detailed Senior Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting. This role will report directly to our Principal Financial Officer. This individual will be a key member of our Finance and Accounting team and will lead the financial reporting process, support the organization in technical accounting matters, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of US GAAP, PCAOB standards, and SEC regulations. Further, this individual should be ready to excel in a fast paced and dynamic environment while frequently collaborating with individuals from numerous departments throughout the organization.

The Arena Group's expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $130,000 - $145,000. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group's total compensation and benefits available to its employees.

What You'll Do:
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of all financial reports, including quarterly and annual filings with the SEC (10-Q, 10-K, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP accounting standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Perform analysis and prepare documentation for complex accounting issues including the development of appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor and research new accounting pronouncements and communicate implications and requisite actions to key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standardized and comprehensive accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely resolution of any audit issues.
  • Provide technical accounting and financial insights to support operational and strategic decision making in the organization.
  • Identity and implement process improvements to streamline the delivery of timely and accurate financial information.
  • Ensure the existence and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting within the accounting and financial reporting areas.
  • Assist with ad-hoc analysis and cross-functional projects.


What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 6+ years of progressive experience in Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting in a public company environment, public accounting firm, or combined experience.
  • Experience with a Big 4 or national public accounting firm preferred.
  • Experience with SEC registrants and with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, media and Technology industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
  • Exemplary attention to detail and commitment to accuracy of information.
