Position Summary:
  • The Senior Development Director plays a critical role in advancing the mission of the KVC Foundation and Children's Mercy + Camber Mental Health (CMC) hospital by leading major gift fundraising efforts. This position involves developing and implementing strategies for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospective and current donors. The Director will work closely with Children's Mercy + Camber Mental Health (CMC) hospital and KVC Foundation leadership, and volunteers to secure substantial financial support, including major gifts of $10,000 or more, to further the hospital's initiatives.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional fundraising experience including demonstrating success in major gift fundraising, board/committee engagement and corporate sponsorship.
  • Experience with moves management including, but not limited to, prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of working with high net-worth individuals and C-Suite executives.
  • Experience with fundraising and data management systems; Raiser's Edge is highly desirable.

Licensure/Certification:
  • At least 21 years old
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Valid Auto Insurance

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Fundraising Leadership: Direct and manage the comprehensive development program for CMC, focusing on major gifts of $10,000 and above.
  • Donor Relations: Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects and donors, ensuring ongoing communication and engagement with support from the KVC Foundation Donor Relations Team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CMC Leadership Team, Board and KVC Foundation Team, and volunteers to coordinate fundraising efforts and achieve shared objectives.
  • Travel: Travel as required to meet with potential and current donors, representing CMC and KVC Foundation in various settings.
