Description:

We're seeking a senior mechanical or mechanically focused energy engineer to join our mid-west office. The ideal candidate will have experience with analysis and schematic design of mechanical systems with an emphasis on energy efficiency. The candidate will be the technical lead on mid-west energy projects and potentially some California projects remotely, depending on workload.

The ideal candidate should have experience with the following:

Technical
  • MEP building systems
  • Chillers, boilers, central steam systems
  • Retro-commissioning
  • Integrated control systems
  • Energy modeling
  • Energy master planning and engineering economics
  • Building and infrastructure assessments
  • Proposal and technical report writing
  • Experience presenting to governing boards


    • Education & Certifications
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or Electrical Engineering with 5 years mechanical experience)
  • At least 5 years of experience with mechanical systems
  • Professional Engineer registration (PE) preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship

    • Software
  • Energy Plus
  • AutoCAD or Sketchup/Layout for schematic design
  • MS Office Suite
  • Zoho Creator

    Salary is commensurate with current market value. Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training

    Responsibilities
  • Taking technical lead on client energy programs
  • Analyzing energy use and rates using utility or logged data
  • Performing energy audits at customer facilities
  • Reviewing BAS system trends, sequences, and schedules
  • Identifying energy project opportunities
  • Creating/reviewing building energy models
  • Performing financial analysis on project payback
  • Developing the contractor scopes of work for projects
  • Creating schematic design drawings
  • Creating RFP packages and interfacing with design engineers and contractors
  • Developing Retro-commissioning plans
  • Developing M&V plans specific to the scope of work
  • Writing proposals
  • Providing technical assistance to energy engineer team members
  • Assisting the operations team with engineering design review meetings
