DSP Engineer, Audio Team

Tesla is seeking a DSP Engineer to help innovate new features for its infotainment system. This Engineer will have a strong understanding of the design of embedded systems for automotive audio products and have demonstrated ability to implement audio DSP algorithms. This Engineer will also have technical depth in electronics, mechatronics and acoustics in order to understand car integration. Responsibilities

• Develop audio signal processing for next generation Tesla vehicles: acoustic rendering for playback, speech enhancement and acoustic detection
• Develop audio signal processing firmware across the product pipeline of Tesla vehicles
• Design and build audio tuning tools including electronics, mechanics and software
• Develop algorithms to optimize audio experience and develop and manage data sets for audio algorithms
• Conduct end to end studies for algorithm and machine learning model development, tuning, and validation
• Bring up new audio DSP platforms and products, validating board level and vehicle level prototypes including electrical and acoustic measurements
• Work with suppliers on design and testing of Infotainment related audio products
• Test and validate audio systems and components in the lab and on the road
• Plan, execute, interpret, and document product development and validation testing
• Work cross functionally with other teams within Tesla from multiple disciplines to reach fact-based decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional abilities
• Solid technical depth in DSP, electronics, mechatronics and acoustics and strong DSP programming skills in C, C++, and assembly
• Experience with vectorization, DSP code optimization, implementation of numerical algorithms
• Experience developing with audio and plugin frameworks e.g. JUCE, Max/MSP, Audio Weaver, VST plugins and Audio Unit plugins
• Experience with machine learning, statistical learning practice and frameworks, e.g. tensorflow, keras and pytorch
• Has audio algorithm development experience and experience maintaining code over the lifecycle of audio products
• Experience with computer vision, OpenCV is a plus
• Ability to communicate and drive suppliers and algorithm vendors (Technical and Product Management skills)
• Strong problem solving skills and motivation to work in a dynamic, fast paced, multitasking environment

Expected Compensation$120,000 - $210,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
