POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director of Elementary/Intermediate Student Services reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Administration and is responsible for leading all aspects of student services at the district's elementary and intermediate campuses. The Executive Director will work closely with elementary and intermediate administrators in the areas of student discipline, attendance, and enrollment in line with district policies and procedures. The Executive Director will work with the community, students, parents, and leaders across the district to resolve issues at the lowest possible administrative level.

Provide leadership and coordination in the following areas regarding student services:
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Frequent district wide travel; occasional statewide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Master's Degree Required
- Texas Mid-management or Principal Certification required
Experience:
- Successful Campus Principal experience required
- At least (5) years as a Campus Administrator required
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Knowledge of education law, school board policies, social services, and district operations;
- Knowledge and expertise necessary to provide guidance and oversight of the student discipline process;
- Knowledge and expertise necessary to provide guidance to campus administrators in managing parent complaints and dispute resolution;
- Skills in communication, problem solving, and collaboration;
- Ability to read, write, and interpret policies, letters, and memos.
DUTIES:
- Work with Elementary/Intermediate Campus Administrators to resolve issues related to student services
- Design and provide professional development for elementary/intermediate administrators regarding student services
Provide leadership and coordination in the following areas regarding student services:
- Chapter 37, the Code of Conduct, and the Student Handbook
- Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS)
- Attendance and Truancy Prevention
- Student Enrollment and Transfers
- Complaints, Appeals, and Dispute Resolution
- District Policies and Procedures
- Student and Campus Safety including School Resource Officers
- Work with other district personnel to create a cohesive environment
- All other duties as assigned
