JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE : Director of Technology Integration
REPORTS TO: Chief Technology Officer
JOB GOAL : To provide leadership in the identification, assessment, and management of Technology needs and to contribute to the infusion of educational technology in the District

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Master's degree in Education, Instruction Technology, Curriculum and Instruction or related field
Ability to lead others in the creative uses of technology in a learning environment
A strong record of strategic planning and grant writing
Project Management experience with large and complex initiatives
Knowledge of research based best practices in instructional design and student learning assessment for teaching and learning
Knowledge of trends and future directions of technology in the learning environment
Strong collaborative skills and experience working effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus
Ability to direct and coach with demonstrated effective supervisory, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Understanding of the crucial role academic technologies play in education with respect to increasing student access, engagement and success, and current issues in online learning in general
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components of local and wide area networks, Internet, intranet, and distributed learning
Understanding of the unique technical support demands of a PreK-12 educational environment

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, mission, goals, and priorities
2. Designs and implements assessment processes for measuring the utilization and effectiveness of technology to support continuous improvement
3. Works with school and district registrars to maintain accurate student records and data integrity
4. Develops small group workshops for staff, focusing on the academic and instructional uses of applications
5. Oversees District professional development needs as coordinated by the Curriculum Department
6. Oversees rostering and user access for instructional software, ensuring compliance with curriculum and state requirements
7. Produces and delivers reports on emerging technologies and their potential use and impact on the education environment
8. Formulates technology training policies, programs, and schedules based on knowledge of identified training needs
9. Remains current on new developments in the areas of software, hardware, networks, telecommunications, training, and maintenance
10. Leads District initiatives and collaborates across departments and functional areas to support adoption and implementation of technology in all aspects of school business, including those that improve teaching and learning and promote 21st century skills
11. Manages district digital textbook platforms, including licensing, access, updates, and staff/student training.
12. Provides administrative and technical support for instructional technology to improve learning outcomes, facilitates technology-enhanced learning, and increases student engagement
13. Coaches classroom teachers and technology coaches to develop specific strategies for integrating technology into instruction
14. Takes responsibility for District technology assessments
15. Ensures accurate and timely state reporting in collaboration with the data team.
16. Supports implementation and functionality of digital instructional tools
17. Collaborates with members of the administrative team to support student achievement through embedding technology in teaching and learning
18. Promotes Hoover City Schools on local, state, and national levels through conferences, workshops, seminars, and technology associations
19. Maintains positive relationships with the building administration, parents, other staff, and students in the buildings
20. Assists in supervising and evaluating the job performance of the technology staff and assists building administrators with evaluations of certified instructional staff
21. Coordinates with Curriculum, Technology, and data teams to align district needs, including clean data practices, state reporting, scheduling, and enrollment processes
22. Adheres to local Board policies, administrative procedures, and other like directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws
23. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s)
