Test Lead

ECS is seeking a Test Lead to work remotely.

ECS is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Test Lead to join our Federal Practice in the DMV area. As a Test Lead, you will be responsible for setting the test and evaluation strategy and standards for a federal program and overseeing testers. This position requires advanced quality assurance and software testing experience.

Primary Duties

• Develop test strategy and methodologies for the program (including internal, regression, and User Acceptance Testing), focused on Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Coordinate and enforce implementation of test strategy across teams
• Develop templates for test plans and test results
• Collaborate with project management and developers on timing and content of builds, releases, and patches
• Lead the detailed planning and execution of specific testing activities, as defined within the scope of individual projects
• Oversee the testing activities and resource allocation of testers
• Manage and coordinate cross-team testing activities
• Work closely with developers to groom user stories to ensure testing considerations are included; communicate and discuss test plans, results, data analysis, and unresolved problems
• Work with closely with customers to understand requirements, think through functional test scenarios based on the persona, and advise the team on test cases related to the product
• Collect, analyze, and report test metrics
• Establish best practices in Configuration Management for test-related items
• Identify, analyze, and track risks, communicating statuses, and escalating concerns when needed
• Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, develop and deepen long-lasting client relationships

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline
• 7+ years' test management experience
• 5+ years hands-on testing experience
• Advanced knowledge and experience in formulating test plans and strategies, including documentation of techniques and communication to internal and external senior stakeholders
• Experience using Atlassian Jira and Confluence, or Azure DevOps Server
• Experience supporting teams with standard testing types:
  • Unit tests (white, gray, black)
  • Regression testing
  • Scripting and automated test suites
• Experience working with a Federal Customer
• Experience managing client requirements and small teams
• Experience supporting multiple software development teams
• Experience working in an Agile project environment
• Strong client interfacing skills: a positive attitude, highly motivated, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
