Senior Software Engineer

Marathon TS is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our elite application development team. You will play a pivotal role with the design, development, and maintenance of the PHMSA Vulnerability Tracker application, all while embracing the Agile mindset to foster innovation and rapid adaptation. Your experience and expertise will be focused on Agular front-end development and providing backend support. This role ensures that the application is scalable, secure, and aligned with PHMSA's operational needs.
This is a 6 month contract position.

Marathon TS is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our elite application development team. Your experience and expertise will be focused on Agular front-end development and providing backend support. This role ensures that the application is scalable, secure, and aligned with PHMSA's operational needs.
This is a 6 month contract position.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the front-end and back-end components of the Vulnerability Tracker using Angular and other technologies.
- Collaborate with the System Integration Specialist, Business Analyst, and other team members to ensure the application meets all requirements.
- Implement best practices for secure and scalable software development within an Agile/DevSecOps framework.
- Write and maintain detailed documentation for the application's architecture, code, and dependencies.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure the application meets performance, security, and compliance standards.
- Address any defects, bugs, or enhancements identified during the warranty period, ensuring uninterrupted service.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10 years of relevant experience
- 5 years of specialized experience in Angular and AWS
- Proven experience in system design, development, and deployment in large-scale IT environments.
- Proficient with building applications using Angular and AWS services.
- Strong knowledge of Agile development and DevOps practices.
- Prior experience supporting IPv6 migrations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills to work seamlessly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have's:
- Experience working in a Federal environment, preferably Department of Transportation
- Active Public Trust clearance
- Agile certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Master)
