The GOM Supply Chain Specialist will be part of the GOM SCM Operations team and will support the Gulf of Mexico unit in managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans.
In this role, interpersonal skills including conflict resolution, innovation and integrity will be key as the position would act as a central point of contact between operations business unit stakeholders, vendor representatives and other various key functional stakeholders including Legal, Audit, HES and AP.
Maintaining lines of regular communications with vendors in the assigned categories, to determine availability, competencies, and cost competitiveness will be part of the day-today activities.
Position will continuously seek ways to identify and execute improvement opportunities to reduce overall cost related to assigned categories services.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain, Engineering or Business Administration preferred)
Knowledge (and application) of Procurement Policy, Authorized Approvals, Ethical Business Conduct Policy
Knowledge of oil and gas basic operations and equipment.
Familiarity with Oxy Contract terms and conditions (Master Services Agreements and Commercial Terms), price book design
Strong knowledge of procure-to pay process, contract management best practices, supplier vetting, sourcing strategy implementation, commercial analysis, negotiations, and Microsoft Office programs.
Identify commercial opportunities through market intelligence, regular reporting of commercial impact and data analysis and clearly present these opportunities to functional stakeholder
Monitor assigned contracts to ensure suppliers comply with terms and condition
Strong communication skills to interface effectively across functions including Interface with Legal (terms and conditions), Accounts Payable (pricing), HES (vendor registration), Proponents (requisition approvals and scope of work clarification)
Excellent proficiency in time management and ability to assess and assign priorities accurately
Demonstrated a strong ability to collaborate with direct team members, work independently with little instruction and adapt to change
Excellent customer service & problem solving to address potential gaps in processe
Presentation and training skill
Ability to display judgement and make decisions independently
Knowledge of Companies ERP Systems (SAP Ariba)
Desired:
Intermediate knowledge (3+ years' experience) of Contract Management
Familiarity with Master Service Agreements and Commercial Terms including price book
Oil and gas knowledge of production related services including General Oilfield Service
Utilization of system/software related to sourcing functions-SAP, Ariba, Open Invoice, Spotfire, Microsoft Office...etc.
