Primary Purpose:

Provide support for district software applications to allow for efficient operations of district business systems.

Qualifications/Skills:

Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Computer Science or related field preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to break down complex problems and develop effective solutions quickly
  • Good knowledge in relational database concepts and design
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to focus on job at hand
  • Excellent people skills to interact and communicate with stakeholders at all levels from end-users to senior executives
  • Good technical writing and documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work unsupervised
  • Self-motivated learner
Experience:
  • Hands-on working experience with database development, data modeling, stored procedures, views
  • Working knowledge of school business processes and procedures
  • Working knowledge of state and federal reporting requirements related to K-12 school districts
  • Experience supporting users on enterprise software application systems
  • Experience working with software vendors to troubleshoot and solve issues
  • Experience with MUNIS or other K-12 ERP preferred
  • Experience with K-12 timekeeping system preferred
  • Experience with Frontline or other applicant management system preferred
  • Experience with KACE or other issue management system preferred


Major Duties and
Responsibilities:

Application Support:
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient operation of district software applications
  • Provide a creative source of ideas/solutions to address issues and business needs
  • Gather business requirements, define technical scope, and help create project plan and technical documentation
  • Serve as liaison between end-user and software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise
Other:
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule and local board policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Work with frequent interruptions.
  • This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.
