Job Title: Director of Development
Report to: Chief Operating Officer. Regularly work with, and attend meetings with and on behalf of, and be assigned projects and assignments by the Chief Executive Officer.
Proposed Salary: $100,000 to $115,000.
Responsibilities
Serve as United Hospice's representative in the community to cultivate a patient pipeline. Lead the development and implementation of a regional-specific marketing and growth sales plan to increase revenue and overall census.
Travel to medical, congregate housing facilities, and community sites as required.
Subject matter expert on Medicare Hospice Benefit and reimbursement.
Create a business development strategy plan and refine it as required. Work closely with UH leadership to meet business goals. Responsible for the execution of assigned strategic plan goals.
Develop and communicate strategies that promote awareness of the hospice philosophy to the business development and program liaisons for their respective territories. Contribute to strategy.
Maintain coverage in all sales territories with qualified representatives. Provide updates on networking.
Prepare a comprehensive marketing plan and targeted lists to generate referrals.
Identify and open new account opportunities for the business development team.
Conduct meaningful and competitive analysis regularly. Collaborate will colleagues to maximize the use of organization data. Collect current market and competitor information regarding pricing, service offerings, and new services. Remain up to date on available CMS data. Independently perform research and generate leads through a variety of different tactics, including online research, the utilization of existing relationships, database analysis, and the creation of new relationships with decision-makers at key prospects.
Regularly visit existing partners and refine service delivery of United Hospice's services.
Manage and develop needed advertising to support the business development strategy plan.
Serve as an organization point for external marketing resources/vendors.
Identify partners for contract negotiation. Coordinate contracts and set up an orientation.
Develop a community outreach plan for elected officials and civic organizations.
Attend community events and fairs. Cultivate presentation opportunities for UH staff to educate the public on hospice benefits.
Secure event sponsorships through Business Development partnerships.
Contribute and manage social media and website.
Work closely with Patient Services and Clinical education to drive census growth. Review monthly nonconversion patient lists together to improve conversion rate.
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor's Degree required and master's preferred.
Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Marketing and or sales experience in the health care or similar industry - hospice sales background preferred.
Desire to be a member of a winning team focused on building momentum to deliver organizational mission at the highest levels possible.
Experience supervising teams and covering a large geographical network.
Select and implement an effective CRM database. Maintain, populate, and utilize prospect information within the UH CRM database.
Partner with colleagues to develop compelling presentations, proposals, and other materials to effectively showcase UH services and capabilities.
Meet with prospects to effectively develop, maintain, and strength relationships with decision-makers at local, regional, and state levels.
Maintain effective and responsive communication with UH leadership.
Experience managing advertising budgets, campaigns, and consultants.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal requirements such as HIPAA, etc. as well as company policies and procedures.
Travel to prospective locations within the assigned market for meetings and presentations.
Ability to demonstrate ownership of defined region including staff and top referring partners.
Ability to forecast needs and set priorities. Experience with sales and communication training.
Competent organizational skills. Ability to perform timely completion of all required reports.
Must work well under pressure, able to pivot and change course as needed. High levels of emotional intelligence a must. Excels as a problem solver.
Working knowledge and practical application experience with general office computer systems (i.e., Microsoft Excel), internet, email, and desktop navigation. Proficient in leading virtual meetings and presentations.
Able to receive constructive feedback and desire to work in a continuous improvement environment.
Skilled at problem-solving and facilitating collaboration with co-workers. Able to take direction and work independently.
Must be a highly ethical, self-motivated team player.

- Daily access to an automobile is required. A valid Driver's License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
