Summary:

As a Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will be instrumental in managing diverse HR functions within our Canadian branch and project sites. Your role will encompass overseeing recruitment, training, and performance management processes to ensure our workforce remains skilled, motivated, and retained. Additionally, you will handle employee relations, ensure compliance with Canadian labor laws, and drive the implementation of company policies to foster a productive and harmonious work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the payroll and benefits administrator.
  • Advise the management team on laws and regulations to ensure compliance with employment legislation.
  • Monitor vacation entitlements, sick leave, and other attendance-related matters.
  • Manage recruitment needs, from candidate assessment and screening to presenting the most qualified candidates to the team, while maintaining relationships with external recruiters.
  • Handle disciplinary actions, including terminations if necessary.
  • Conduct orientation and onboarding for new hires, providing training on the company's vision, mission, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage the Human Resources continuous improvement plan.
  • Maintain HR and safety-related documentation, including training records and inspections.
  • Coordinate employee engagement events.
  • Conduct training and development sessions for team members, both for internal requirements and external development opportunities.
  • Undertake any other assignments, duties, and projects as assigned.
  • Coordinate all legal matters pertaining to HR.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
  • College or University diploma required; a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • PHR certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 7 years HR-related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction or equipment industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Expectation of approximately 50% travel to other locations across Canada.
