FDH Aero is looking for a Senior Manager of Accounting who will manage multiple accounting functions and operations such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, asset, cost, and tax accounting. Implements accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental financial and tax regulations and comply with GAAP and IFRS standards. Senior Manager of Accounting oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting. Evaluates accounting processes and systems and implements optimizations. Additionally, Accounting Senior Manager develops and directs accounting professionals and support staff. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical accounting expertise, and the ability to collaborate with other departments to support strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly accounting close process; ensuring all entries are posted timely with requisite IPE documentation/backup and all BS reconciliations are accurate/complete and in compliance with US GAAP
Reconcile and review key high and medium risk balance sheet account reconciliations
Assist Controller in monitoring the P&L to ensure posting accuracy and completeness
Provide various monthly and quarterly complex journal entries including consolidations, eliminations, accruals, intangible and prepaid amortizations, and various allocation entries
Manage a team of Accounting professionals and support staff across geographical regions, including establishment of goals and development of performance reviews
Train and mentor junior staff
Review intercompany transactions to include foreign business units and affiliates
Generate the monthly financial reports and prepare the financial reporting packages
Perform variance analyses with appropriate commentary and present results to management
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Monitor and enforce compliance with accounting policies and procedures
Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, operations, supply chain, IT HR) to support business needs and deliver financial insights
Assist with audit preparation, investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance
Prepare ad-hoc requests for executive leadership
Assess current practices and procedures and drive improvements and standardization within the Controllership group
Prepare and assist with Tax Returns as appropriate
Suggest ways to improve efficiency and reduce spending
Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA/CPA Preferred)
8 years of progressive accounting experience
4 years of managerial experience of an accounting team
Strong and thorough technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS
Solid understanding of Foreign Exchange and Currency Translation Adjustments
Knowledge of Internal controls and reporting requirements
ERP Knowledge and Experience - Quantum, NetSuite, SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, Dynamics, Sage, Great Plains
Familiarity with reporting/consolidating applications - Planful, Hyperion, OneStream
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees, and across geographic/int'l regions
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills - Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments
Excellent organizational, time-management skills and execution
Illustrate the ability to meet deadlines
Intermediate Excel (SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX, Pivot Table, etc.)
Strong Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to be detailed-oriented and perform in-depth Technical/Professional research
Must be a US person based on ITAR requirements
Team player and ability to motivate the team members
