Job Summary:
GDI is seeking a skilled GTM Server-Side Migration & Analytics Engineer to lead the transition of our Google Tag Manager setup from client-side to server-side in NA, while building a new server side tagging management practice as we enter the EMEA market. This role is crucial in enhancing our data privacy, improving website performance, and ensuring accurate data collection. As a member of Digital Development, you will work closely with the Customer Acquisition and Retention Marketing Product teams and be responsible for several GA4 analytics & tag management initiatives.

Job Summary:
GDI is seeking a skilled GTM Server-Side Migration & Analytics Engineer to lead the transition of our Google Tag Manager setup from client-side to server-side in NA, while building a new server side tagging management practice as we enter the EMEA market. This role is crucial in enhancing our data privacy, improving website performance, and ensuring accurate data collection. As a member of Digital Development, you will work closely with the Customer Acquisition and Retention Marketing Product teams and be responsible for several GA4 analytics & tag management initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the server-side tagging architecture using Google Cloud Platform;
- Lead the migration of Google Tag Manager and our paid media tags from client-side to server-side;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems (E-commerce websites and apps, retention marketing, customer relationship management, etc.);
- Optimize data collection processes to enhance website performance and data accuracy;
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, Quebec Law 25, GDPR) and best practices;
- Provide recommendations to optimize tracking and attribution from first party data collection;
- Leverage GA4 dashboards, BigQuery, and/or Looker Studio to build several reports on top of GA4 data;
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to server-side tagging;
- Provide training and documentation for internal teams on the new server-side setup.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology;
- Proven experience in implementing Google Tag Manager server-side, including server-side tagging for major paid advertisers;
- Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.);
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform;
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA);
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Nice to haves:
- Certification in Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics;
- Experience with a similar migration;
- Knowledge of server-side programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Python).
