Description:
This position has divisional-level responsibility for managing projects for UIC Student Affairs, including divisional-level projects as well as unit-specific projects. A resourceful troubleshooter, the Director uses independent judgment and project management skills to help divisional leadership manage new initiatives and improve current ones that promote student success, engagement and development, as well improving divisional processes. The Director coordinates external reviews and works with units going through the review process to create implementation plans and provides support where appropriate to manage related initiatives. They will have a proven ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and organize and maintain administrative processes that are essential to this position. They will work collaboratively with colleagues within and outside of Student Affairs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Create project management plans for divisional and unit-specific projects Facilitate divisional and unit-specific projects and initiatives Work with grant writer to draft project plans for external grant applications Project manage grant-funded activities and research Anticipate and track critical dates, tasks, events and associated action items Follow-up with appropriate parties to ensure deadlines are met Utilize project management software to track and facilitate initiatives and projects Project management divisional initiatives, such as Advancing Racial Equity, Data Dashboards, Basic Needs and updating Student Affairs Strategic Priorities Manage the Faculty Fellows and SA Special Projects Initiatives Lead the second (external review) and third (implementation planning) phases of the SA program review effort Prepare reports of projects Write reports and collect and documentation for external grants including supporting documentation Develop project management training for staff Provide project management consultation to SA staff Supervise graduate assistant and undergraduate student employees as needed Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Required:Bachelor's degree. A total of three (3) years (36 months) knowledge of education, social services or higher education, particularly student success, engagement and development. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)
