Fleet Manager
Job Summary:
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the transportation and fleet management operations within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Implement comprehensive transportation and fleet management strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure transportation initiatives support overall business objectives.
Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Fleet Management:
- Oversee the maintenance, acquisition, and disposal of the organization's fleet of vehicles.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of the fleet.
- Implement fleet management software to help track asset assignments and financial allocations.
- Optimize fleet utilization and monitor cost metrics.
Logistics and Distribution:
- Streamline transportation networks to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with suppliers and carriers to negotiate favorable terms and service agreements.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
Cost Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for transportation and fleet operations.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through Fleet optimization, fuel efficiency, and vendor negotiation.
Safety:
- Monitor safety programs and initiatives to reduce accidents and promote a culture of safety within the transportation team.
Technology:
- Evaluate and implement transportation management systems and other technologies to enhance operational efficiency and visibility.
- Utilize data analytics to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
