AquaPhoenix Scientific, headquartered in Hanover, PA has an immediate opening for full-time Education Channel Sales Director We are looking for a highly motivated experienced sales professional to oversee the Education Sales Channel providing educational STEM products, solutions, and services to customers serving the K-12 and higher education markets. As the Education Sales Director you will work as a player and coach in generating, driving and managing sales strategies for the education sales team.

Requires a proven ability to aggressively mine, develop, and cultivate new and existing customers in emerging and existing markets to accelerate organic sales and meet annual performance objectives. Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and sales intellect to reach key decision makers, generate leads, and advance customer loyalty through long-term account solutions.

Essential Responsibilities and Expectations:

The ideal candidates for the Education Channel Sales Director must possess an ability to comprehend, anticipate, and diagnose customer needs, concerns, and objectives. Although not all inclusive, additional responsibilities and expectations include:
  • Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of sales professionals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Provide training, coaching, and performance management to ensure the sales team is highly effective.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Oversee the sales pipeline. Identify and cultivate meaningful organic sales opportunities from lead generation to closing deals. Ensure a smooth process for contract negotiation, product customization, and implementation.
  • Relationship Management and Customization: Understand customer needs and opportunities. Complete timely RFP's and proposals. Proactively provide the best viable solutions for products and services.
  • Revenue and Budget Management: Monitor sales performance metrics and adjust strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of competitors, sales cycles, market trends, and industry change. Apply knowledge to help achieve sales and growth targets.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production operations, marketing, product development, and customer service teams to ensure a cohesive approach to meeting customer requirements. market. Participate in the development of educational materials or new product offerings.
  • Proactive and Responsive: Timely follow up on customer inquiries and contract requirements as appropriate. Be accurate, available, ethical, and highly organized. Appropriately leverage business relationships to further enhance sales, partnerships, brand loyalty, and on-going initiatives.

Desired Skills, Education, and Knowledge

AquaPhoenix Scientific considers applicants with diverse backgrounds, education, and work experience; however, applicants for the Education Channel Sales Director position will frequently have a combined education and/or work experience that is a minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Education, or related field of study; along with five or more year's sales and management experience - preferably in education technology or STEM educational services. Requires a valid US driver's license and the ability to travel as required to fulfill the expectations of the position. Additional Skills and Qualifiications include but are not limited to:
  • Sales Leadership: Proven track record in sales management, ideally with experience leading a team in the education or edtech sector.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the education sector, including trends, challenges, and buying behaviors of educational institutions.
  • Communication and Negotiation: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and senior leaders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions to optimize sales strategies and processes.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple sales initiatives and client accounts concurrently while ensuring timely execution.
  • Customer-Centric: A focus on understanding and solving client challenges through customized educational solutions.
  • CRM Tools: Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales performance tracking tools.
  • Trade Shows and Events: Attend approved industry-related trade shows, venues, and events that will further enhance sales goals and objectives.
