We are seeking an energetic and motivated Senior Director to join our Research team. In this role, you will lead the platform team and will be expected to design and implement strategies aimed at engineering the hematopoietic system using in vivo gene therapy approaches. You will be expected to be a leader and an independent thinker that can communicate and interact effectively across various disciplines.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leverage a deep understanding of molecular biology and vector engineering to drive the advancement of the research pipeline and platform improvements.
  • Lead a team of scientist to engineer and build vector payloads to support all research programs as well as vector improvements to optimize Ensoma's platform
  • Innovate in research and have an understanding of the developments in the field, including clinical and competitive landscape
  • Establish and leverage robust cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders across the company in support of program goals.
  • Develop scientific strategies to support company goals and provide guidance for your team.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • PhD degree in molecular biology, virology or related field.
  • PhD with 10+ years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry or academic setting.
  • Strong foundation in vector/payload engineering and solid track record of research accomplishments in the discipline
  • Have a detailed knowledge of state-of-the-art regulatory elements for mammalian gene expression in therapeutic vector design, including a deep understanding of approaches for payload design in the gene therapy landscape
  • Experience designing, generating, and characterizing vectors for gene therapy approaches.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be both highly collaborative and able to work independently.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Strong preference for candidates with prior industry experience.
