job purpose: To lead the operations readiness function of the Packaging Workstream in fairlifes new greedfield facility in Webster, NY
responsibilities:
- serves as single point of contact for Op's readiness across Packaging (Blowing, Filling, Inspection systems, sleeving, case packing, palletizer and stretch wrapper)
- ownership & management of the interface between Op's & Engineering workstreams
- represent operations in design requirements, close outstanding design /scope items, ensure ops customers satisfied through design sign off
- support identification of scope gaps between engineering disciplines
- build quality interface
- co-ordinate Op's involvement and feedback in any factory acceptance testing. Ensure this is completed to an acceptable standard
- FD & HMI / SCADA review
- FMEA & HAZOP (if required)
- supports Op's training workstream in identifying and coordinating any OEM offered training
- ensures resources, consumables & any 3rd party services are available when required to support commissioning
- ensures operators are available and trained to an acceptable standard to support commissioning and startup as required
- ensures recipes & MMI's finalized and issued (if applicable)
- snag list (manage and centralize op's feedback / requests / coordinate ops sign-off)
- identify the need for any embedded OEM resources post start-up and coordinate between supplier and op's
- tracking of critical plant cost drivers as the plant stabilizes and benchmark against existing sites and contract guarantees
- packaging material yield

- key op's representative through PAT & contract close out. Ensures performance testing is carried out in a replicable environment and qualifications are met in full
- coordination of all Op's enablers that impact packaging to ensure they are delivered on time and to Op's expectations

- quality systems & processes (incl Labs) are scoped, developed and ready for production
- plant areas are safe, risks identified & mitigated, systems and processes in place to keep people safe
- CMMS database is populated accurately, critical PM routines loaded and spare parts onsite
- L4 Enterprise and L3 MES systems are scoped, developed, integrated and tested (incl all critical management processes)
- KPI reports are scoped and developed
- any procurement (Direct and Indirect) needs identified, scoped and executed within plan
- any regulatory requirements are planned and approved for start-up
- in partnership with op's leads, support any minor project work not covered by engineering scope
- fitout of packaging areas (workstations, tools, work aids, waste management)
- locations of visual displays and cameras
- any misc. equipment required by Op's
- ensure the master integrated timeline (engineering and Op's enablers) is accurate with sufficient allowances for tasks and all interdependencies aligned
- ensure all GT "Best Practice" recommendations are worked through and included in workstream scope across people, systems and processes
- project manager of commissioning and startup between upstream and downstream processes in partnership with Op's startup leads
- incorporating all OEM requests (time, resources, materials)
- phasing of line / equipment start-up (risks / safety, interdependencies, resourcing)
- updating planning and supply chain on progress and medium range plan & likely performance
- monthly reporting to internal steerco
skills/qualifications required:
- Engineering Degree and expertise in Aseptic PET blow molding and filling equipment and manufacturing processes
- 5+ years' experience in project management, technical roles or commercializing associated with starting new Aseptic PET Blow molding & Filling lines
- Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment

- Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
- Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
- Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
- Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
