We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join our Leadership Team. The ideal candidate for this role should have accounting experience in the nonprofit space, be a strong leader with the ability to cultivate a collaborative and engaged workforce, and who has the interest and ability to expand beyond traditional finance and accounting duties. Under limited supervision, the VP/CFO serves as the responsible party for developing and monitoring the agency budget, oversees patient billing, serves as agency financial liaison, reviews contractual arrangements, serves as the primary contact with external auditors and develops and monitors the agency long-range financial plan. The VP/CFO is also responsible for overseeing the facility, technology and other related operational functions of the agency. This position has both director-level and individual contributor direct reports.

Position Logistics
  • 37.5-hour work week (5-day work week)
  • Routinely 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM shifts Monday - Friday

Primary Responsibilities

Financial and Accounting Oversight and Leadership (60%)
  • Serve as Chief Financial Officer of LRADAC, LRADAC Foundation and Brighter Future Employment Services, including operational duties, budgetary responsibilities and serve as the financial liaison for the agency.
  • Oversee the financial operation of the Finance Division for the agency.
  • Supervise all accounting functions of the agency including preparation of general ledger closing entries monthly and annually. Ensure compliance with all internal control mechanisms, generally accepted accounting principles, and LRADAC accounting policies. Oversee and provide backup for all accounting functions including but not limited to payroll, check preparation, cash management and monthly management reports.
  • Prepare financial reports to be reviewed monthly with leadership and others as appropriate. Prepare financial reports to be distributed externally as required.
  • Prepare analysis of financial data, including billing and service data from EHR.
  • Develop, revise and monitor agency budget which includes submission of annual budget to DAODAS and the respective agency Board of Directors. Develop and provide programmatic budgets to assist in management of programs. Provide recommendations for budgetary revisions to Executive Management staff.
  • Act as administrator of grants and contracts for LRADAC and the LRADAC Foundation. Serve as the financial representative to grantors, ensure compliance with funding expenditure requirements and timely reporting.
  • Oversee the payroll and benefits for all employees of the LRADAC and Brighter Future Employments Services.
  • Oversee the operation of Patient Accounts Division, including patient billing and the intake process for patients.
  • Act as liaison to all external funding sources including contract review, contract negotiations, contract execution, grant review and approval, developing and providing financial documentation as required by funding sources, and assuring compliance with contract deliverables.
  • Serve as primary contact for external auditors assigned to examine agency financial records. Prepare for and ensure compliance with all financial regulations including a clean and timely year-end audit.

Serve as a member of the Executive Management of LRADAC (20%)
  • Lead by example across the entire LRADAC team in all manners of conduct, communication, and ethics.
  • Collaborate with other members of the LRADAC team in a constructive, open, and positive manner.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bring strong ability to make decisions and solve problems.

Facility, Technology, Safety and Other Operational-Related Functions (15%)

  • Oversee the facility, technology, safety and other related operational functions of the agency.
  • Oversee the maintenance and safety of the organization's facilities and vehicles.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies and partners, including DPH and CARF.
  • Direct the management, strategy, security and execution of technology infrastructure for the organization.
  • Ensure timely resolution of helpdesk tickets and other technology related issues.


MARGINAL DUTIES (5%) include the following:
  • Attends all required meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required. Master's degree in accounting preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting to include at least some time in non-profit or governmental accounting, experience demonstrating compliance with accounting policies, financial statement reporting, and budget development. Experience with grants management, medical billing, facility, and/or technology operations is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience to include hire, fire, performance management responsibilities.
