Job Summary
As the Director of Sales, you will focus on growing market share through our territory with our end-to-end warehouse solutions. Your role involves fostering teamwork across all departments to achieve collective goals and promoting a professional image of the dealership. You will be responsible for generating acceptable revenue and profit margins while planning for future growth. Additionally, you will create and maintain a strong team atmosphere within your assigned region, ensuring collaboration and synergy among all team members.
Responsibilities
Sales Operations Management
o Control daily operations of the sales department, including CRM management, new orders, market share, and cost control.
o Ensure proper and accurate usage of CRM for all customer information and opportunities.
o Evaluate month-end sales reports for accuracy, trends, and measurements.
Associate Development and Performance Management
o Assess the abilities of potential associates and select individuals capable of performing sales duties.
o Evaluate training needs within the department and plan regular training for all sales associates.
o Regularly evaluate job performance of department associates based on established goals and objectives.
o Forecast future manpower needs and plan necessary hiring and training processes to meet those objectives.
Customer Relations and Conflict Resolution
o Work with associates and customers to resolve disputes and capitalize on opportunities.
o Maintain open communication among management, associates, other departments, and BT Raymond.
Financial Management and Marketing
o Control and evaluate sales department income and operating costs through budget planning and profit and loss statement evaluation.
o Promote the Company and Sales department with current and potential customers through active marketing of programs and features, such as:
Scheduled and comprehensive fixed-price maintenance contracts
Rental equipment
Rebuilt equipment
Truck and component rebuilding
Equipment specials and promotions
Vendor Relations and Equipment Performance
o Maintain liaison and foster positive relations with equipment vendors to enlist their aid and support when needed.
o Monitor performance standards of new equipment and provide feedback to the manufacturer.
Perform any other duties as assigned or required to support the company's overall operations and objectives.
Requirements
All potential hires are subject to pre-employment checks which include but are not limited to background checks, drug screenings, and motor vehicle record checks.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Sales Leader in the Material Handling industry.
Proven track record of successfully navigating large RFQs.
Experience hiring and developing sales teams.
Excellent organizational skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Effective communication skills with management, associates, and customers.
Proficient in monitoring and developing personnel.
Proficient with personal computers using both Windows and DOS operating systems.
Ability to read and understand necessary sales, service, and training manuals.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage changing priorities effectively.
