An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides primary and specialty healthcare. Like a physician, they assess and diagnose patients, order laboratory tests, prescribe medications, and manage health conditions. APRNs also educate their patients on how to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments including recording complete medical and psychosocial history
- Record symptoms, physically examine patients, and make diagnoses.
- Develop a treatment plan that may include medication and other therapies.
- Provide patient education to promote habits that will prevent diseases and maintain good health.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses.
- Order and interpret laboratory test results.
- Follow up on a patient to determine the effectiveness of recommended treatments.
- Frequently manages other members of the healthcare team such as RNs and licensed practical nurses.
- Understands & encourages staff alignment with PCMH guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Education / Licenses:
- Master's degree in nursing required.
- Active license in state of practice.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred and must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Excellent leadership, customer service, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of medications, indications, usage, and side effects.
- Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to feel compassion for patients, their families, and others.
- Able to always respect and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Able to work independently.
- Ability to place accurate prescription orders.
- Able to follow policies and procedures.
