Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time position: Chief Procurement Officer.

This position oversees and develops centralized purchasing and materials management to support Coastal Carolina University's mission, ensuring cost-effective procurement, receipt, storage, distribution, inventory, and surplus management of goods and services.

Director (UP03/61122086). Salary range is $100,000.00 to $130,000.00. Salary commensurate with experience. Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Occasional travel. Occasional overtime. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Lead and Supervise Procurement Operations: Provide guidance, direction, and final approval for all procurement functions while managing and coaching the Procurement team, ensuring the University's compliance with State procurement laws and regulations.

Serve as University Procurement Liaison: Act as the chief liaison with the SC Division of Procurement Services, ensuring effective coordination and handling state procurement audits.

Oversee Purchasing and Materials Management: Facilitate the purchase of goods and services, oversee centralized receiving, inventory control, and surplus property functions, ensuring compliance with State procurement laws and regulations.

Manage Contract Review and Compliance: Collaborate with the Office of University Counsel to review and manage contracts using Jaggear or similar procurement software, ensuring timely and efficient workflow.

Develop and Implement Procurement Policies: Formulate and administer procurement policies to ensure compliance with state laws and oversee the functioning of electronic procurement systems to enhance efficiency and cost savings.
Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications: Procurement Experience required. MBA and relevant experience or equivalent education, training and experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CPPO or CPPB. Higher Education working experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Professional business and procurement knowledge; strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
