Overview
The CFO will be a part of the Executive team leading our Corporate and Project Finance teams. The ideal candidate will be experienced with project finance, tax equity, debt, capital raising and capable of overseeing the project finance team and act as a bridge between the project finance environment and the corporate finance environment. The candidate will ideally be based near our Bay Area home office.

Overview
The CFO will be a part of the Executive team leading our Corporate and Project Finance teams. The ideal candidate will be experienced with project finance, tax equity, debt, capital raising and capable of overseeing the project finance team and act as a bridge between the project finance environment and the corporate finance environment. The candidate will ideally be based near our Bay Area home office.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide insight and counsel to the Chief Executive Officer, management team and the Board of Directors.
- Serve on the Executive team with responsibility for the financial side including risk management (financial reporting, business cases, cash flow forecasting, etc.).
- Oversee and implement the financial strategy of the company.
- Help create the company's annual and multi year business plan including capital requirements, funding options, credit facilities, etc.
- Serve as a key participant on the company's investment committee to evaluate project acquisitions and development opportunities.
- Lead and develop the finance team (Controlling, Treasury, Accounting and Project Finance).
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Executive team and the Board of Directors.
- On an ongoing basis, revise and establish with the Board project underwriting criteria, such as return thresholds, portfolio diversification, and appropriate investment risks.
- Support and mentor the Head of Corporate Finance to oversee the annual audit and contact with tax authorities.
- Bring and build relationships with debt and tax equity providers while providing guidance and mentorship to the Head of Project Finance.
- Provide consolidation and other financial packages to the parent company KIRKBI.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- MBA and/or CPA/CFA.
- At least 10 years of relevant finance experience in the renewable energy industry (preferably in solar and wind), with proven success as a CFO.
- Established relationships with financial institutions relevant to financing renewable energy projects in the U.S.
- Experience in raising project sponsor capital (equity sell downs, GP/LP funds)
- Value-based people leader, with strong team-building and communication skills.
- Open minded; experience working in a cross-cultural context a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
