Summary:

The Tulalip Health System is seeking a highly motivated PEDIATRICIAN (MD/DO) to be part of a comprehensive health and wellness system to care for the Tulalip Tribes' indigenous population. The Tulalip Health System is comprised of multi-disciplinary teams to include, Ambulatory Care, Psychiatry, Behavioral Health& Recovery, Physical Therapy, Optometry, Dental, and Complementary Medicine (Naturopathy, Reiki, Bowen, Acupuncture and Massage Therapies). You will be part of be part of a health and wellness system that provides care in a culturally appropriate ways addressing the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of each individual. We focus on the entire person, and have an integrative, patient-centered, multidisciplinary health team of dedicated professionals whose primary mission is to provide the best possible care to our tribal members and community. This position provides direct and comprehensive primary, preventative and therapeutic medical and nursing care to individuals across the lifespan at the Karen I Fryberg Tulalip Health Clinic serving the The Tulalip Tribes and their community.

Duties:

Primary Duties include but not limited to: - Provides Pediatrics Care for Tulalip Members and other Native Americans within Snohomish County. - Elicits detailed patient histories and does complete physical examinations. - Reaches diagnoses and orders appropriate laboratory testing, imaging, specialty care. - Counsels patients and family on health and diseases. - Administers or prescribes treatments and medications. - Prescribes appropriate inoculations and vaccines to immunize patients from communicable diseases. - Refers problems beyond the scope and competence or facilities to appropriate physician specialist. - Refers nutritional, social, emotional and developmental problems to appropriate professionals and/or agencies. - Bases decisions on information obtained through professional medical knowledge and skills, current best practice standards of care, and approved policies and -procedures. - Make notes and chart observations in individual patient medical records and complete all additional documentation within 72 hours. - Provides emergency medical care as needed or requested and maintains PALS certification. - Sutures minor wounds, and performs minor procedures, under standard practice principals in Washington State. - Participates in weekly provider meetings. - Participates in evaluation of Health Clinic policies and procedures. - Prepares patient education materials and articles for Tulalip media outlets and participates in provider-lead patient educational classes. - Participates in after hours on-call services. - Maintain aseptic and sterile technique and handles exposure to hazardous waste and communicable disease in accordance with OSHA regulations. - Observes strict patient confidentiality, and all pertinent requirements of HIPAA and any other confidentiality regulations. - Performs other job-related duties as required or directed. - Should be knowledgeable of applicable Federal and State laws relating to the practice as a pediatrician. - Usage of Electronic Health Record Systems including the ability to type chart notes in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Education and Certification Requirements - Graduate of a Medial School with M.D. or D.O. Degree - Graduate from a United States based Pediatrics Residency Program (M.D. or D.O.) - Must be Board Certified in Pediatrics (or Board Eligible if within 2 years of graduation from Residency, but must obtain Board Certification within 2 years if hired under this Board Eligible criteria)
