SUMMARY
This role consists of delivering asset management business objectives for under-development and operating properties. The primary asset class for the role will focus on newly delivered class A+ multifamily assets, but may also include select mixed-use, office, hospitality, and industrial assets. The Asset Manager will be responsible for working with in-house and third-party property management firms to maximize the portfolio performance, profitable growth, and optimal utilization of resources to achieve the strategic objectives of the firm. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success managing asset operations for a variety of asset types and geographies, but with strong experience in the multifamily sector.

SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success managing asset operations for a variety of asset types and geographies, but with strong experience in the multifamily sector.
Responsibilities:
- Drive performance and value maximization of an operating portfolio of class A+ multifamily assets, plus select mixed-use, office, hospitality, and industrial assets.
- Oversee third-party property managers through constant contact and feedback, including conducting regular meetings with the team to communicate expectations, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Support third-party property manager's multifamily marketing, leasing and pricing strategies.
- Identify and implement plans to improve the assets, either physically, operationally or procedurally.
- Ensure regular and ad hoc required lender and partner financial reporting is completed and delivered on-time and in compliance with reporting requirements.
- Work proactively with development team to support operational success of new projects.
- Manage the annual property budget process.
- Follow and control expenditures, including capital project coordination, to ensure assets are performing within budget.
- Lead due diligence efforts and assist in the closing of capital events including dispositions, refinances, and partner buyouts.
- Any additional duties as required in support of the Asset Management and greater Portman team's goals to maximize the investment returns of the projects and new developments.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in real estate, engineering, finance, hospitality, or similar fields
- 5-10 years of experience in the asset management of institutional real estate, with hospitality, multifamily and office exposure strongly preferred
- Exceptional knowledge and experience in leasing, accounting, and property operations
- Solid experience creating and managing a budget and producing monthly, quarterly, and yearly property management and asset management reports, business plans, and lender compliance packages.
- Expert understanding of joint venture agreements, real estate investment returns, waterfalls and loan documentation.
- Exceptional analytical skills with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Yardi experience a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and oversight
- Travel required up to 25% with overnight stay
