Job Description
Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/Ultrasound Technician

Job Specialty: Ultrasound Imaging

Job Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 10-hour night shifts, Monday to Thursday, 8:30 PM - 6:30 AM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: One year of ultrasound experience strongly preferred

License: ARDMS registered RDMS(OB/GYN) or (AB) or (BR) or ARRT registered R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(S)(BS) (ARRT)

Certifications:
- ARDMS registered RVT(VT) or ARRT registered - R.T.(S)(VS)(ARRT)
- ARDMS registered RDCS(AE) or (PE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required

Must-Have:

Job Description:
- Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to, abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retroperitoneal, small parts, and vascular scans.
- Conduct cardiac procedures as required.
- Adhere to radiation safety regulations ensuring personal and patient exposure is minimized.
- Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
- Prepare the patient for exams; provide information and instruction to patients and/or families regarding procedures.
- Assist and position patients during examinations; report and document unusual occurrences and patient conditions.
- Ensure smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment/resources.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff.
- Assist with patient transport as needed; perform IV starts and contrast administration.
- Input charges and require data for procedures and supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of work area and equipment, logging service calls/problems.
- Maintain a high skill level through ongoing education and share knowledge with staff.
- Participate in clinical training for students and/or staff technologists.
- Engage in professional activities and actively participate in quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workload to meet productivity requirements.
- Adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, and staffing needs.
