Description:

HBD/Thermoid is seeing a highly motivated, results oriented, driven individual responsible for general supervision of all phases of the Bellefontaine OH plant operations: annual planning and execution, capital improvements, facility and equipment maintenance, and provide a safe working environment. Works closely with team members to improve safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and profitability.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for plant related business functions
  • Review production schedules, monitors scrap rates to find areas for improvement
  • Monitor expenses, research approaches for the reduction of costs while improving the overall workflow, safety, workforce requirements, supply flow, etc.
  • Communicate business and plant updates to all employees through a regular cadence
  • Leadership of Continuous Improvement through rigorous application of the HBD Business System in all aspects of the business
  • Lead and support a culture of continuous improvement through employee engagement
  • Development of talent including Performance for Growth, Succession Planning, lean, technical, efficiency, safety and adherence to processes and procedures
  • Define goals, improve technologies, and resolve problems in conjunction with managers across the organization aligned with our KPIs of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity
  • Responsible for determining the need for labor, space, materials, and capital equipment and provide cost analysis to determine Return on Investment
  • Work with vendors when necessary to ensure quality and timely delivery of supplies to maintain production schedules


Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5 - 10 years' experience in industrial manufacturing
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, organize, plan and make decisions
  • Proven track record of leading cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated leadership and results using a Lean/Kaizen/Continuous Improvement approach
  • Ability to identify strategic opportunities and develop, implement, and sustain changes to deliver year over year improvements to safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Applications and Manufacturing ERP Systems
  • Experience in a union manufacturing facility is preferred
