Job Description
Identify effective communications strategies to engage the media, community leaders, city government partners, and the public in support of Metropolitan Hospital.
Plan, develop, and implement strategy for internal and external communication to effectively position the facility in the market place with a goal of increasing the patient capture rate within the primary and secondary catchment areas
Serve as a liaison to elected officials, CBOs and community-based health coalitions. Represents the facility at meeting with elected officials, community meetings and events
Coordinate press and media requests; oversee story ideation, communication, and placement in broadcast, print, and digital media and coordinate with Central Office to ensure a message consistent with system strategy
Draft, edit, and distribute pitches, press releases, and other communications materials; Liaise with media on-site
Develop content for monthly employee and community newsletters
Work with freelance graphic designers to ensure graphic design projects are completed with high quality and on schedule
Work closely with the web team to manage the website content and ensure content is refreshed; oversee photography and video content as needed.
Perform other duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Science, Social Work, Public Health or related discipline and three (3) years of full-time, progressively responsible experience in the field of community relations, community organization, public health and/or social services in a public or private social or health agency; or
2. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience. However, all candidates must have minimum of a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting agency.
