We're expanding our team and looking for an Estimator with solid experience in the field. The ideal candidate should be skilled in preparing detailed estimates and comfortable collaborating with others to contribute to the team's success. In this role, you'll work on estimating multi-trade projects across mechanical, electrical, and construction disciplines within top-tier institutional, residential, and healthcare developments, supporting the team to deliver exceptional results. Salary $85k-$120k with profit share, benefits from day 1, 4% RRSP matching and best of all.... NO BRIDGES FOR THOSE LOCATED IN THE FRASER VALLEY AND AGAINST TRAFFIC FOR EVERYONE ELSE!!

Responsibilities
  • Pricing & Quantity Take Off: Expert knowledge and ability to accurately prepare quantity take-offs and establish relevant pricing for identified quantities. Able to develop strong conceptual estimating skills - able to foresee issues and understand the big picture and what implications if any there are to the project
  • Bid Preparation: Responsible for researching and data analysis of external factors that may impact prices & efficiencies, building analysis in bid submission documents
  • Risk Management: Upon the review and coordination of drawings and specifications, proactively analyzes possible risks (i.e. schedule) identifying laps and gaps, with recommended solutions. Promptly escalates all issues, questions, and concerns to the Pre-Construction & Estimating Manager
  • Budgeting & Costing: Prepares preliminary budgets and provides ongoing costing assistance identifying potential cost savings opportunities for Lark Group and/or the client as required. Provide data, insights and recommendations based on estimated vs actual costs
  • Planning & Scheduling: Establishes and/ or works with established priorities and develops and implements a comprehensive schedule ensuring accurate sequencing and resource allocation to meet strategic project goals
  • Develop strong working relationships with the Owner and Architect to ensure repeat business
  • Depending on experience may also be responsible for coaching and developing junior staff on projects with the goal to Elevate each team member to excel

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training
  • Minimum of 5+ years construction experience
  • Self-motivated and ability to assume responsibility and lead large-scale bids
