We are seeking an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Capital Engineering Group and drive innovative solutions in hybrid discrete and continuous chemical processes, with a focus on pharmaceutical films manufacturing. In this role you will work with the Capital Engineering Group, Maintenance Group, Operations teams and other stakeholders to define best mechanical practices, set standards, and ensure successful project execution aligned to our strategic transformation priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
Serve as a member of the Capital Engineering Group to benchmark and evaluate available technologies for deployment in hybrid discrete and continuous chemical processes (pharma films manufacturing). Engage with vendors and technology suppliers to evaluate and select technology applicable to industrial manufacturing processes.
Support existing and new designs and implement innovative solutions for industrial operations
Mechanical design for Major & Minor Capex projects, concept through detailed design
Maintain, revise, edit, etc... all AutoCAD files
Assembly drawings, detail drawings, P&ID
FAT, SAT for new equipment
Work with maintenance department and mechanics for repairs and upgrades for new and existing equipment as well as site infrastructure
Obtain quotations for mechanical equipment and parts to support projects and plant operations.
Support Process Engineering Group in identifying opportunities to improve processes
Work with Quality Control to support QC/QA equipment as needed
Support HSE projects to enhance operations safety performance
Define and execute document control practices to ensure preservation and protection of drawings and intellectual property
Support company procedures and efforts to improve manufacturing reliability. Identify and validate risks and work with team to mitigate them
Perform incoming inspection of mechanical parts
Travel up to 10% of the time as required

In October 2024 Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.

YOU MUST HAVE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
5+ years with implementing Mechanical Design solutions and AutoCAD

WE VALUE:
Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Design
10+ years with implementing Mechanical Design solutions
Must be fluent in AutoCAD
Proven experience in supporting complex engineering projects
Proven ability to effectively communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical people
Willingness to learn new technologies
Implementation of new and innovative solutions/systems experience
Eagerness to get involved in hands-on work
Experience working with Maintenance Group for equipment repair and increasing uptime
Experience working with Process Engineering Group for optimization
Experience preparing and updating specifications and standards.
Experience with equipment selections and procurement.
Experience preparing detailed installation plans (drawings, BOMs, work lists).
Experience working with OEM machine builders for new equipment projects.
Experience working with supervision of equipment installations.
Experience with supporting new and upgrade commissioning project phases
