Reportingto the VP, Innovation Development, this role will allow you the opportunity toexplore new, cutting-edge technology within the Drax Group business. You'll be evaluatingand valorising technology options in order to inform the viability of projects.

You'll provide technical and commercial input to the developmentof project concepts; adapt in line with changes in the global economy,political climate, climate change targets; and foster general technologyprogression.

This is a permanent role that can be based at either our Houstonoffice or Monroe Office. We can offer hybrid working and it is preferred thatyou are comfortable with frequent travel both domestically and internationally

About the role

Within this role, you'll be responsible for, but not limited to,

Forging close relationships with development partners and ensure a seamless project integration with the Large Capital Projects (LCP) team, such that projects can move seamlessly from Innovation to LCP

Evaluate, with assistance from the Innovation Engineers, new technology to modify existing pellet plants toward accessing new markets or changing existing unit operations to improve earnings

Leading initial stage technology piloting, informing regulatory frameworks, implementing early stage legal, contractual and commercial documentation for projects before they are passed on the Capital Projects or other Drax teams to execute.

Input into the formulation and delivery of the strategy for key target areas which may arise in the future

Provide technical and commercial input to ensure that key decisions made by the business deliver value and meet customers' needs, are well communicated and included in business planning cycles for pellet supply development.

Collaborating and building relationships with external stakeholders as well as our internal stakeholders across our main functions such as Pellet Production, Core Services, Innovation, and Capital Projects

About you

You'll be degree educated in a relevant subject and have a strongcommercial focus and background with the ability to judge the value of anopportunity and accurately estimate costs and risks.

Essential to this role is that you'll demonstrate your ability tocoordinate and guide diverse groups as well as demonstrate your experience inthe scale up of new technology and coordination for project execution.

You'll also demonstrate your experience working withinpower/energy generation, biomass processing, or within pilot and demo plantoperations

You'll be a creative thinker who is naturally curious with theability to create and develop innovative ideas and concepts which start from ablank piece of paper and coordinate diverse teams to make those ideas becomereality.

With your strong business acumen, you'll have the ability toidentify realistic opportunities and options.

Adaptability is key! You'll have strong resilience and the abilityto adapt to ever changing directions, able to keep an open mind, and bounceback quickly and move on if an idea does not become a concept for development.
