ASRC Federal Systems Solutions, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Safety and Mission Assurance Manager in anticipation of favorable award of an upcoming contract in the Beltsville, MD area.
Program Overview: The Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (O M S) program supports a range of advanced technology networks and infrastructure essential to high-priority missions in aerospace and defense. These networks provide critical communication, data transport, and tracking services for both government and commercial clients involved in complex mission operations. The program ensures the seamless integration and operation of sophisticated ground-based and space-based systems, contributing to mission success and ongoing modernization efforts.
Position Summary: The Safety and Mission Assurance Manager leads the implementation of safety protocols and quality assurance measures across maintenance, sustaining engineering and operational activities across multiple geographically distributed sites. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, mitigates risks, and fosters a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The Safety and Mission Assurance Manager also oversees the management of high-reliability systems, ensuring operational excellence across all activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety and mission assurance plans to ensure compliance with organizational and federal safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to address vulnerabilities in operational and engineering activities.
- Oversee compliance with safety standards and protocols, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and industry best practices.
- Manage safety audits, incident investigations, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement, addressing challenges proactively.
- Provide leadership in managing high-reliability systems, ensuring they meet stringent operational and safety requirements.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in safety and mission assurance roles for large-scale programs.
- Familiarity with federal safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to manage audits, investigations, and corrective action plans.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in safety management systems (e.g., CSP or equivalent).
- Experience with high-reliability systems in aerospace or defense sectors.
- Strong communication skills for fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams.
