The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description
  • Act as a technical expert who consults on highly complex projects.
  • Devise or modifies procedures to solve technical problems.
  • Responsible for system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Develop component design.
  • Develop system/application architecture.
  • Develop maintainable/scalable, effective, defect free source code that meets business requirements and team standards.
  • Conduct unit test case development.
  • Develop highly complex test scripts.
  • Serves as a technical leader to the team, setting architectural and design direction and mentoring software engineers.
  • Identify and implement appropriate continuous improvement opportunities and
  • Contribute technical alternatives.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.
Qualifications
The position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronics Engineering, software engineering or a related field plus eight (8) or more years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Position also requires demonstrable experience with each of the following:
  • IT concepts, strategies and methodologies such as Agile and Object Oriented Design.
  • Business operations and strategies, including global insurance technology and claims handling through applications that serve up policy related data.
  • Diverse new and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles such as Quality Engineering, and Observability (e.g. the "Five Gold Signals") Cloud Engineering practices.
  • Expertise with Guidewire10, Claim Center module, supporting the process of claims FNOL, and claims lifecycle management.
  • Developing Policy API's in support of delivering the policy data required to manage claims.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard Accord.
  • Software engineering languages and tools including each of the following:
    • J2ee
    • Spring Boot
    • Spring Cloud
    • Spring Security
    • OAuth2
    • Docker
    • AWS
    • Microservices
    • Ajax,
    • Ibatis
    • Hibernate, GOSU
    • SOAP and REST Web services
    • HTML
    • JavaScript

    • PERL
  • Agile sAFE methodology and
  • Backlog tracking, burndown metrics and incremental delivery.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.
