Asthe Plant and Value Chain Optimization Director, you'll report into the VP,Innovation Development. You'llcoordinate with North American operations staff and core services to advancelow and no capital opportunities to make business improvements througheffective modelling and debottlenecking.
You'llengage commercial partners, contractors, public institutions, and otherexternal stakeholders to forge relationships and terms in support of thecommercial or technical requirements for implementation of new technology.
This is a permanent role that can be based at either our Houstonoffice or Monroe Office. We can offer hybrid working and it is essential thatyou are comfortable with frequent travel domestically and occasional travel internationally.
Aboutthe role
Withinthis role, you'll be responsible for but not limited to,
Engaging our generation team to understand needs, pain points, and opportunities across the North American value chain and gain input on technology gaps prevent resolution of challenges
You'll evaluate and identify, with assistance from the Innovation Engineers, new technology to address challenges within North America and unlock value for Drax Biomass Inc.
You'll scope projects with partners in the business including Horizon 1 (Operations), Data Analytics, and other Core Services to implement and harness new technology toward process improvements
You'll gain alignment from stakeholders on execution strategy for projects and develop budgets
You'll coordinate resources as needed to install new technology and harness new data streams
You'll ensure the quality of products through continuous feedback from generation/operational users and by ensuring quality communication between other partners in the business
You'll measure financial benefits of projects and report successes to relevant Drax leadership with concepts for scale out / scale up
You'll work closely alongside the Innovation Senior Leadership Team to ensure awareness of future developments in the marketplace and consider the options to capitalise on them.
You'll ensure the most appropriate choices are made which allow Drax to deliver our purpose at greatest value.

You'llbe degree educated in a relevant subject and demonstrate your abilityto coordinate and guide diverse groups.
Demonstrating your experience in testing of new technology in anindustrial environment, you'll also have a strong commercial focus with theability to judge the value of an opportunity and accurately estimate costs andrisks.
You'll be a creative thinker who is naturally curious with theability to create and develop innovative ideas and concepts which start from ablank piece of paper and coordinate diverse teams to make those ideas becomereality.
Essential to this role is that you have strong resilience and the abilityto adapt to ever changing directions. You'll also be comfortable in keeping an open mind and bounce backquickly and move on if an idea does not become a concept for development.
Collaboration and communication is key to this role! You'll be experienced and have confidence toengage in challenging discussions with peers and more senior level stakeholders.
