JOB SUMMARY

The Administrative Director has 24 hours, 7 days a week for the function over multiple units throughout the NCH Healthcare System. Responsibilities include performing as the lead for implementing system wide programs, strategic planning, and collaboration for the department of nursing to ensure continuity and alignment of NCH nursing and organizational goals and workflow. The Administrative Director develops the guidelines, procedures, and standards within their assigned departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees and develops the overall operations of the units assigned to the individual and in accordance with hospital administered policies, standards of nursing practices, and governmental regulations, providing the highest level of care for all patients.
Provides strategic and operational analysis consistent with NCH Healthcare System overall goals and objectives, as well as implementation of the strategies. Participates in the planning, development process, and possesses a thorough understanding of organizational strategy.
Responsible for Strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, staffing and project management.
Champions standardization, optimization and use of best practices in all current and future endeavors.
Mentoring and succession planning for areas of responsibility to ensure leadership effectiveness and retention.
Oversees the development of departmental standards, policies and procedures, and creation of best practices to ensure consistency across organizational boundaries and assuring that standards of care and service are clearly understood and followed by all staff members.
In collaboration with executive leadership, ensures prioritization of goals and responds to problems/complaints to maintain smooth operations while handling multiple issues simultaneously.
Promptly prioritizes and communicates untoward and/or unanticipated clinical events to the ACNO/CNO.
Works directly with executive leadership in assessing capital expenditures in relation to changing healthcare needs and/or advances in technology.
Sets the standard for patient/family focused care as the highest priority and strives to meet customer expectations for quality and satisfaction.
Builds positive relationships with ancillary leadership teams and meets, as needed to align strategy, services, and coordinate any required implementation activities to provide excellent customer support.
Understands regulatory compliance issues which affect the system and department, including OSHA, DCF, TJC, EEOC, CDC, AHCA, etc. and ensures that department and personnel maintain compliance at all times.
Understands and accepts the continual nature of change associated with the healthcare environment, and the importance of remaining flexible in order to meet changing demands and assists staff to understand change.
Overall accountability for quality metrics and adherence to nursing and hospital policies for the service line.
Works closely with Human Resources, executive leadership, and nursing leadership to assess and develop retention and recruitment plans for patient care givers.
Supports an innovative process which empowers nurses at all levels to contribute collaboratively to the ownership of nursing practice, standards, and quality of care.
Participates as a member in MEC, Management, and Medical Staff Committees and specialty committees that interact with assigned service line.
Creates and maintains collaborative relationships with community partners.
Acts as the direct liaison for strategic planning with contracted services, i.e. Team Health partners, Fresenius.
Promotes effective marketing of the service line through a variety of internal and external efforts including, but not limited to aggressive and proactive outreach and active participation in community events.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of BSN required.
Master's Degree from an accredited school of nursing or related earned graduate degree in nursing administration, health care administration, business administration or comparable preparation preferred.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Minimum of five years' experience in the management of nursing operations or units.
Minimum of five years' progressive management experience.
Excellent analytical, motivational, strategic planning, organizational and communication skills.
Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
