Position Overview:
Reporting to the CEO, CEBA's Chief of Staff will be the CEO's right-hand, contributing to high-level meetings, driving major initiatives, and guiding CEBA's executive decision-making process. This job requires a balance of organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong desire to assist others. The Chief of Staff will be an influential partner in CEBA's relationships with members, allies, and key policymakers.

Core Responsibilities:
Research & Advising
- Demonstrate critical thinking and thought leadership to collaborate with the CEO in decision-making, prioritizing and managing time, and choreographing CEO and senior leadership activities and responsibilities.
- Support the CEO to create effective presentations and background briefs and prepare for speaking engagements in close collaboration with CEBA's communications team.
- Provide quick, insightful, and in-depth analysis of policy, politics, and industry trends and curate information for the CEO which incorporates data and analysis from both internal and external sources.
- Successfully manage a wide variety of special projects as needed.
Strategy & Operations
- Prioritize and manage requests for CEO's time and work along with CEO's Executive Assistant; gather background information on meeting topics and attendees and ensure the support needed from CEBA staff.
- Manage CEBA's decision-making portfolio including creating and standardizing decision memos and maintaining documentation of decision-making.
- Execute CEBA's staff and executive meetings including ownership of meeting cadence, agenda items, presentations, deliverables, and follow-up activities.
- Alongside the CEO and executive leadership, implement near and long-term programmatic and operations strategies and manage agendas and materials to engage with the Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 5 or more years' relevant executive management experience.
- Demonstrated success in relationship management, partnership development, project management and corporate strategy development.
Additional:
- Master's degree preferred.
- A professional and personal commitment to CEBA's vision and core values of respect, integrity, service, and excellence (RISE).
- A firm understanding of major energy policy and market trends.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communications including experience in creating high quality presentations.
- Ability to solve complex problems and understand the logical relationships among concepts.
- A strong desire to help others balanced with an ability to communicate in a direct and forceful manner when necessary.
- Receptiveness to creative ideas and a willingness to modify approach and generate new ways to solve problems.
- Independently determine efficient and effective work methods.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours and travel up to 50% of the time.
