Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Services Technical Project Manager III. Technical project managers are critical to the conception, development and execution of technical custom projects. In addition to understanding the content of the project, which can be quite technical, they must also handle all the duties normally ascribed to Project Managers.

The Technical Project Manager for the Services Team will plan, schedule, monitor, evaluate and direct projects, ensuring they meet established time, cost and technical objectives. The Technical Project Manager develops and manages the project's change control procedures and effectively utilizes all available methodologies and tools, culminating in client acceptance of results. The Project Manager conducts project progress reviews with client and account team personnel, providing contingency and problem resolution plans as required. Candidates should have expertise in translating IT requirements into solutions driven by detailed project plans via the use of Project Management disciplines. Given the customer facing nature of this role, up to 50% travel is expected.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE & SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of Software Development Project Management experience, with 3 years' experience in retail industry, particularly store operations, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work within a project team environment where results will be based on cooperation with and/or influence of others
  • MS Project experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and driving issues to closure, with a focus on successful results.
  • Meets deadlines and produces high quality work

Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership and Execution
    • Lead delivery teams for multiple small to medium projects or complex segments of larger initiatives.
    • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, resources, and schedules.
    • Assign tasks, organize team meetings, and oversee day-to-day project activities.
    • Communicate project status internally and externally, including conducting regular status meetings.
    • Monitor progress, identify and resolve issues, manage change control, and address variances in cost, schedule, and resources.
    • Produce and maintain detailed project documentation.
  • Advanced Project Planning
    • Independently build and refine complex project plans with minimal guidance from senior project managers.
  • Team Mentorship and Development
    • Mentor junior team members on project management principles and domain-specific knowledge.
    • Guide junior team members' tasks and foster knowledge-sharing through active participation in training sessions.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Interaction
    • Engage frequently with customers, ensuring alignment of deliverables with expectations.
    • Collaborate with internal and external teams to maintain consistent communication and deliver high-quality results.
    • Proactively ensure client satisfaction by addressing concerns and exceeding expectations.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration
    • Interface with team leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless task execution and project alignment.
  • Flexibility and Additional Duties
    • Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability to evolving project requirements.


  • FINANCIAL IMPACT
    The TPM III is responsible for managing professional services projects totaling from $500K - $5M annually.

    Complexity

    Managing complex projects with dependencies outside of his/her control; competing resources. . The Project Manager plans, schedules, monitors, evaluates and directs projects to ensure a complete business solution is implemented. The Project Manager serves as part of the Project Management team and plays a supporting role on client engagements and may be fully responsible for leading a large project or a portfolio of small projects. The Project Manager produces a project plan based on the Global PM Project Management methodology for executing the project.
