Alberta Health Services, in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, is inviting applications from Psychiatrists to take on the role of General Adult Psychiatrist at Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) in the Department of Addictions and Mental Health. Alberta Health Services is Canada's largest and only province-wide health service provider, providing care for more than 3 million people. Our multi-disciplinary teams consisting of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, dietetics, education, and with access to speech and language pathology, providing education and assistance for more than 1.4 million people in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.
The Royal Alexandra Hospital is a seeking a full-time general adult psychiatrist to join our dynamic RAH Team. This position will primarily involve the provision of outpatient care. The psychiatrist successfully recruited into this position will have a special interest in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and be willing to pursue specialized training in DBT through Behavior Tech. In addition, it is expected that the candidate will be able to provide general psychiatric care in areas such as Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, Emergency Psychiatry and/or Inpatient Psychiatry depending on staffing requirements. The candidate will be expected to fully participate in the on-call schedule and ECT roster with the possibility of involvement in other neuromodulation treatments in the near future. The RAH is one of the primary teaching hospitals in Edmonton. Applying for a clinical academic appointment through the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta Hospital and actively supervising and teaching residents and students is an expectation.

The successful candidate should be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of the Department of Psychiatry and are encouraged to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague appointment. Candidates must have an MD and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry. They must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
