We are looking for a General Practitioner with recent and relevant training and experience in Family Medicine for a full-time Family Medicine practice in Sylvan Lake. The successful candidate will be required to provide after hours care for the Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Centre and join the call schedule. It is preferred that the candidate provide OBS services but it is not required. OBS services would include prenatal care in community and deliveries in Red Deer as part of a call group. They will also be expected to support Long Term Care.

Core medical services that the committee has lobbied for includes: medical assistance for non-life threating injuries extended hours from 7:00am - 10:00pm, seven days a week in one consistent location access to Lab and X-Ray observation Beds staffed by Doctors, nurses, and other appropriate health professionals Drop in and visit Sylvan Lake, we'll give you a tour of our growing community!

Qualifications
Required Competencies
- Candidates must hold a valid and relevant license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
- Recent experience (within the last 12 months) of independent Family Medicine practice where the physician has been the Most Responsible Physician for a wide range of Family Medicine patients.
- Previous basic obstetrics and emergency room experience
- Applicant must also be able to provide proof of participation in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
- Advanced cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Recommended
- Experience within the past 24 months running an office based family medicine clinic and being responsible for after hours inpatient care.
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- MOREOB/Advances in Labour and Risk Management (ALARM)
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)
- Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO)
- Certificate of the College of Family Physicians (CCFP)
