POSITION SUMMARY:

This individual manages a regional agency channel and is responsible for revenue generation through the achievement of new business, renewal, and persistency objectives at Kemper Life. Regional Vice Presidents will achieve their revenue objectives by hiring and developing District Managers to effectively recruit, train, develop and retain sales managers and insurance sales agents.

LOCATION: (MI, MO, IL, IN, MO, OH, PA, TN) Must be willing and able to travel throughout the region regularly. Also includes additional business travel as needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Achieves expected/budgeted financial and production targets through appropriate planning and execution

2. Supervises and develops assigned districts/district managers

3. Formulates and/or implements sales strategies based on regional/district needs and performance, aligning to the overall company objectives.

4. Creates, maintains and develops a talent pipeline for district managers and sales managers, based on leadership potential and performance metrics

5. Ensures proper recruitment and selection of agents to retain a highly qualified and productive agent workforce in the region

6. Implements and shares best practices throughout the sales process to optimize revenue and growth and agency/account wallet share.

7. Ensures that direct and indirect reports are accountable to company policies and procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Three plus years of district management, multi-agency management or equivalent industry insurance experience required.
Three plus years experience in leading sales teams including hiring, training, developing and retaining through appropriate setting of expectations and ensuring accountability.
Successful leadership of four or more direct management reports
Proven record of successful sales growth, retention of employees and successful development of talent
Understands basic data management skills, such as Excel and Tableau, necessary to utilize sales operations information and perform channel reviews
Proficient in digital tools such as online insurance application platforms (e.g. eApp, iPipeline)
Highly motivated and natural self-starter, independent thinker, great planner, and team player
Structured in thinking process and strong problem-solving skills, the ability to break down complex problems and find solutions
Ability to cope with uncertainty, learn fast, motivated by new and complex challenges
Manage information in a visually appealing and easy to understand method
Drive results across a team of dynamic communicators and professionals
Ability to quickly absorb complex issues, ensure alignment across cross-functional teams
Track record in selecting and developing a high performing team
Possesses a continuous improvement mindset
