Description:
The Survey Specialist II is an experienced and specialized survey professional that provides technical supervision to one or more junior staff members. The Survey Specialist II focuses on executing and producing project deliverables on multiple client projects and may perform specialized field tasks as appropriate.

Survey Specialist I: $35-$50 per hour
Survey Specialist II: $46-$64 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs work/tasks on a variety of survey projects; produces assigned project deliverables
- Assists in writing scope and estimates for projects
- Coordinates review and submittal of deliverables with the appropriate agency/client
- Communicates often and clearly with project team including office, field, subconsultants, internal clients and external clients
- Performs quality checks on works performed by team and subconsultants on a regular basis per company QMP
- Performs specialized utility locating field work as appropriate
- Analyzes/processes survey data and prepares deliverables for the clients from the data assessment; communicates the results of the data analysis to manager and project team members as appropriate
- Participates in business development activities
- Attends and actively participates in training and mentoring activities that contribute to the development of staff
- Seeks opportunities to contribute to the achievement of Mark Thomas goals
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- An associate or bachelor's degree in a survey-related field preferred
- A minimum of 6-10+ years of relevant utility experience
- Strong understanding of utility systems and infrastructure; expertise in multiple utility types and complex locating scenarios preferred.
- LSIT/GISP or advanced survey-related technology skill (3D Scanning, UAV/UAS, SUE, etc.) preferred
- Proficiency in SUE technology and deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in the field; abides by Company IIPP & Code of Safety Practices.
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy in marking and recording utility locations.
- Ability to perform utility location tasks in a solo crew; field project management experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Effective written and verbal internal and external communication skills.
- Physical capability to perform fieldwork and lift equipment as necessary; ability to physically move manhole covers of various sizes.
- Possesses/demonstrates basic project management skills with respect to deliverables, budget, schedule, and quality
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal team members and external clients and partners
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time and project tasks efficiently
- Willingness and initiative to learn new programs, systems, and tools as they become available
- Ability to work & collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities
- Possession of a valid driver's license and meets company driver eligibility requirements
