About the Role:
As the Area Training Manager - Back of House at Din Tai Fung, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our kitchen operations maintain the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust training culture, leading training initiatives, and providing feedback to improve our training programs and tools specifically for the back of house (BOH) operations.

About the Role:
As the Area Training Manager - Back of House at Din Tai Fung, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our kitchen operations maintain the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust training culture, leading training initiatives, and providing feedback to improve our training programs and tools specifically for the back of house (BOH) operations.
Responsibilities:
- Build a Network of Certified Trainers:
- Identify and develop Certified Trainers in each restaurant to ensure consistent and high-quality training across all locations.
- Foster relationships with restaurant management teams to support the development and effectiveness of Certified Trainers.
- Analyze Learning Needs and Collaborate on Training Programs:
- Assess field-based learning needs through regular evaluations and feedback from kitchen teams.
- Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to design, develop, and implement effective training programs, tools, and resources that address identified needs.
- Lead and Coordinate Training Initiatives:
- Organize and lead training sessions, workshops, and seminars within restaurants to ensure all back of house staff are well-trained and equipped to deliver exceptional food safety and quality.
- Coordinate training schedules and ensure timely delivery of training programs.
- Provide Feedback on Policies and Programs:
- Gather and provide feedback to the Learning and Development team and other support center teams regarding the effectiveness of current policies, procedures, programs, and tools.
- Recommend improvements and adjustments based on field observations and feedback from back of house staff.
- Build and Maintain a Sustainable Training Culture:
- Promote and sustain a training culture that aligns with Din Tai Fung's purpose, values, and business strategy.
- Encourage continuous learning and professional development among back of house staff to enhance their skills and career growth.

Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in back of house operations within the restaurant industry.
- Minimum 1-2 years of training experience
- Multi-unit management experience.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience in training and development, preferably in a kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Passion for training, development, and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to travel to different restaurant locations as needed.
