Youll develop groundbreaking indication models, collaborate with actuarial experts, and challenge the status quo to enhance accuracy. What youll do
- Build best-in-class rate indication models for a $4B Personal Insurance business. Identify emerging trends, research methodologies, and develop solutions for new technical challenges.
- Train and coach junior staff on technical aspects of the actuarial models as well as best practices around process management
- Prepare and present impactful presentations for senior leaders. Summarize key assumptions and modeling choices in plain language and with effective use of visuals.
- Improve tools and process by leveraging new technology and a deep understanding of the actuarial methodology
- Effectively manage special projects, overseeing technical design, scope, timelines, and communications
- Collaborate with Street Pricing, Reserving and Finance to determine shared assumptions and improve the Technical Pricing models.
- Be actively involved in the actuarial community at Aviva
What youll bring
- Bachelors degree in actuarial science, Math or Statistics or other related subjects
- Minimum of 6 CAS exams / ACAS for Team Lead/Manager
- Minimum 4 years/6 years of P&C work experience for Team Lead/Manager
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and mentor junior actuaries
- Curiosity and passion for improving on status quo
- Ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple manner
- Ability to lead projects and manage timetables and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Python, R, and/or SAS. Knowledge of VBA is an asset.

- The salary band for this position ranges from $86,900.00 to $161,500.00. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity.
