Responsibilities:

The Director Institutional Fundraising will be a key leader in shaping and executing the firm's capital-raising strategy, focusing on institutional investors. This role requires a strategic professional who can craft compelling investment narratives, drive relationships with high-level institutional partners, and diversify the firm's funding sources to support growth objectives. This senior role will report to the Head of Capital Markets and work closely with executive leadership to align fundraising strategies with the firm's investment goals. Key Responsibilities include:

Fundraising & Strategic Capital Acquisition:
  • Design and implement a sophisticated fundraising strategy targeting institutional investors, including pension funds, endowments, foundations, family offices, and sovereign wealth funds.
  • Develop high-impact investment proposals, presentations, and marketing materials that effectively communicate the firm's strategies, market position, and portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate with Capital Markets, Investments, and executive teams to align on firm-wide strategy, deal pipeline, and key objectives, ensuring consistent messaging across all investor communications.

Relationship Management & Investor Engagement:
  • Cultivate and sustain deep relationships with existing institutional investors, ensuring ongoing alignment with investor priorities and effective engagement.
  • Proactively identify and engage new institutional investors to broaden the firm's funding network, leveraging an existing robust network and expanding into new markets as appropriate.
  • Lead investor communications, including regular updates on investment opportunities, market insights, and portfolio performance, while managing investor inquiries and building trust.

Market Insights & Capital Source Diversification:
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify emerging trends, investor preferences, and competitive dynamics that impact institutional funding strategies.
  • Strategically diversify funding sources by exploring new institutional channels and deepening relationships with key investor segments.
  • Stay abreast of market and economic developments, continuously adapting capital-raising strategies to align with the firm's long-term objectives.

Leadership, Compliance & Due Diligence:
  • Coordinate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure all fundraising activities are compliant with regulatory requirements and follow industry best practices.
  • Oversee investor due diligence processes, including managing cross-functional teams to prepare detailed due diligence materials and facilitate investor assessments.
  • Serve as a thought leader within the firm, providing insights on fundraising strategy, investor relations best practices, and market dynamics to senior executives and board members.

Requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or a related field. Advanced degrees (MBA, CFA) or certifications highly preferred.

Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in institutional fundraising or capital raising within the real estate, private equity, or investment management sectors, with a proven track record of managing institutional relationships.
  • Established network within institutional investment circles, with deep experience in fostering relationshipswith diverse institutional investors.

Skills and Capabilities:
  • Strong financial acumen and deep understanding of real estate investment fundamentals, asset management, and capital market dynamics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft strategic, high-level presentations and communicate complex deal structures effectively.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams in the capital-raising process.
  • Strategic mindset, proactive approach, and ability to work independently and as part of the executive leadership team.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at desk.
  • Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and/or keyboard and tolerate prolonged periods performing work using a computer, telephone, and/or keyboard.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel.
