Title: Manager, Benefits

Manage a team of benefits experts; oversaw the administration of benefits; collaborate to support Benefits technology such as HRIS system and Benefits Administration platform and an online portal. Support management of benefit and technology vendor relationships. Coach and mentor direct reports and other members of the benefits team. Guide, facilitate, and oversee the education of HR partner relationships, Leaders, and other key collaborators internally regarding current benefits offerings and benefits eligibility, as well as benefits processes and procedures needed to support team members. Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence with requirements for the State Health Benefit Plans and GA Breeze flexible health plans. - Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability; as well as ancillary and voluntary benefits.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage a team of benefits experts; oversee the administration of benefits and leave of absence administration; collaborate to support Benefits technology such as HRIS system and Benefits Administration platform and an online portal. Coach, train, and mentor direct reports and other members of the benefits team.
  • Guide, facilitate, and oversee the education of HR partner relationships, Leaders, and other key collaborators internally regarding current benefits offerings and benefits eligibility, as well as benefits processes and procedures needed to support team members at Dekalb County School District.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence with requirements for the State Health Benefit Plans as well as the GA Breeze flexible benefit plans (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Disability, as well as ancillary and voluntary benefits).
  • Support management of benefit and technology vendor relationships. Serve as liaison with the Benefit vendors to ensure that the plan recordkeeping, payment, and reporting systems are operated in compliance with plan documents and control laws and regulations.
  • Schedule and lead ongoing meetings with direct reports and other members of the benefits team to educate, guide, train, coach, and inform on a regular schedule and as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or other related field of study and/or equivalent experience and education combined.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in benefits administration, employee absence management, or related areas, including a minimum of three (3) years of managerial/administrative experience in the related areas required.
