- Job Summary
- The Microbiology Manager will be responsible for managing the operations of the microbiology laboratory section and ensure accurate and timely analysis and reporting of clinical samples. The manager's responsibilities include hiring and scheduling for dayshift, technical management, and all accreditation maintenance requirements for Microbiology. Areas of responsibility include management and training of microbiology laboratory personnel, scheduling for dayshift, controlling expenses- tracking revenue and troubleshooting if needed, assisting with budget preparation and monitoring, technical management, management of quality, regulatory and accrediting agency compliance, and new instrumentation and implementation for microbiology. The Technical Specialist and Senior Technologist will report to this manager.
- Education
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
- Experience
- Minimum 4 years clinical experience in laboratory testing or with regulatory requirements for accreditation
- Must have good working knowledge of CLIA and must have operational knowledge of regulatory requirements for CAP, OSHA and Joint Commission.
- Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- Registry as Medical Technologist with a national board of registry - ASCP or equivalent
