Term of Employment: March 3, 2025 to April 18, 2025

Rate of Pay: $54.34 to $73.93 per hour

Location: Pembina Campus

Mondays, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (6 hours per week)

This posting is for an instructional term position for the Culture and Diversity in Canadian Society (PT-170) course in the Pharmacy Technician Program. When applying for this position, please include the name of this course in your cover letter.

Potential candidates will not require pharmacy-specific subject matter expertise

MITT is seeking potential candidates with demonstrated subject matter expertise, student-centered instructional approaches, pedagogical practices and technological proficiency appropriate to blended learning course design.

Required Subject-Matter Expertise:

The Culture and Diversity in Canadian Society course requires an instructor with a strong understanding of:

  • Key theorists (e.g., Hofsted) and legal/legislative requirements
  • The history of Indigenous people in Canada and contemporary challenges
  • Historical and contemporary Immigration patterns in Canada
  • Historical and contemporary challenges faced by disenfranchised groups
  • Cultural health influences


Duties will include course delivery using MITT approved course curriculum, supporting student success through well-developed assessment and feedback processes, and maintaining course and student records. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in Program area meetings and contribute to accreditation activities, as well as participate in other College-based committees or activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

A combination of related education and experience may be considered.
  • Terminal degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Effective in a team environment that values collaboration and accountability; and
  • Foster a respectful and supportive learning environment based on the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.


Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous instructional experience and/or an adult education degree or diploma (or equivalent);


Conditions of Employment:
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record check including vulnerable sector and Child Abuse Registry Check.
