Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Advanced Finite Element Analysis team. As part of this team, the role will assist in managing engineering, planning, design, and analysis activities for for heavy infrastructure to include: marine structures, bridges, tunnels, and buildings projects. The ideal candidate will have structural analysis, modeling and seismic experience. Types of analysis you would be involved in includes: soil structure interaction, concrete cracking, nonlinear time history analysis, nonlinear behavior of materials, the modeling of nonlinear behavior of materials, and constitutive modelling. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on some very high-profile projects! This position will need to be located near one of the Moffatt & Nichol US offices.

Qualifications:
Base salary range:
$113,000 to $138,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California, New York City, or Washington markets.
Physical requirements:
Majority of work is office based. Sedentary for prolonged periods of time, interact with clients (internal and external), and travel as needed.

- Support advanced structure analysis team
- Assist in Project Management of structural analysis, design, and detailing of concrete, steel, and timber structures
- Perform static and dynamic analysis using finite element analysis approach
- Perform soil structure interaction analysis, concrete cracking analysis, nonlinear time history analysis, modeling of nonlinear behavior of materials, and constitutive modelling for related structures
- Perform deep foundation analysis and assessment
- Assist Senior Engineers with the preparation of design concepts, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
- Coordinate plan details with engineers and drafting technicians
- May also participate in inspection and rehabilitation design of structures

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Structural focus; required
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering; required
- Professional Engineer license; required
- 6 to 10 years of related structural finite element analysis experience in engineering design
- Experience in soil structure interaction, concrete cracking, nonlinear time history analysis, nonlinear behavior of materials, the modeling of nonlinear behavior of materials, and constitutive modelling for related structures
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Availability and willingness to travel
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
